Mumbai liberated…or is it?

The events that unfolded over the last few days have been really sad. Not because of the amount of destruction it has caused to property and people but for the fact that it has reminded us again how vulnerable we are as a nation when it comes to terror. This is a new form of terror and has left an average mumbaikar shocked. I can sense a growing discomfort and a rage building inside each mumbaikar for not being able to lead a life without fear.

I have been reading and hearing a lot for the past few days about how poor our security systems are and how the government is doing nothing about it. But frankly what can the government do? For a densely populated city like Mumbai, how many people can anyone check? It’s so easy for anyone to plant a bomb at CST station and walk off without getting noticed. There have been talks about ramping up the police force in the state but by doing that are we really addressing the problem of terrorism. We are only finding ways of getting around the problem. Why should there be a terrorist in first place? What is it that is pushing someone to such high level of fanaticism? The fact is we are living in an age of terror. We have to accept this fact and move on.

My heart goes out to those who met their end in this unfortunate event. Kudos to our commandos and the police force for fighting us out of this war through day and night…Hoping for peaceful times ahead…God bless all…
