Arguably two of the best eating joints in Bangalore…One famous for North Indian food ..the other the oldest ice cream parlours in the city. I have a passion for food. I like trying different cuisines. It was a cool breezy night and we decided to satisfy our hunger pangs by going to these places.
First we stopped at Bobby’s…as the name suggests it’s a Dhaba…located at one of the prime locations in Bangalore city..trinity circle…It’s been there for ages and making good profits..But still not much renovation has been made inside the hotel to retain the ambience of a dhaba…It is the first restaurant that I have been to where… you are asked to write on a piece of paper what you want to have and give it to the waiter…instead of the waiter taking the order..We ordered three types of parathas..Aloo, Paneer, Methi…followed by chaas(butter milk). The parathas were “heavenly”…and imagine having chaas in a 1.5 litre pepsi bottle…that was the size of the glass in which it was served…All this for 200 bucks for three people was worth every penny..
Corner House is an ice cream parlour. It’s one of its kinds. They have their franchise only in Bangalore and have recently started one in Mysore . With over 50 flavours to choose from and 3 scoops for 65 bucks..corner house epitomises value for money. I am sure if it starts setting up franchise in other cities..it will definetly give Baskins a run for its money. Sometimes it makes me wonder in awe how these people would have thought 10 years before..that there will be demand for a place where people would want to come and have only ice creams. Hats off to their ideas. “Death by Chocolate” the famous flavour in corner house is what we decided to have.
If you ever happen to stop by Bangalore and are planning to grab some food..you know where to go. You will be blessed with some excellent food.
Cheers!!
